The video (2:20 hours) explains the concept of food and nutrition security and related concepts in development policy analysis. It provides an overview of common indicators for assessing food security and nutrition in developing country populations and discusses their computation and survey data requirements. Presented examples of data sources are taken from recent household surveys in Yemen.
The presentation is given in English with consecutive translation to Arabic. The video is a recording of an interactive online training session for the Food Security Technical Secretariat of the Yemen Ministry of Planning and International Cooperation and the Yemen Technical Secretariat of the Scaling Up Nutrition Movement. The training was conducted by Olivier Ecker of the International Food Policy Research Institute (IFPRI) in Washington, DC, USA, on March 29, 2017. The training is part of the IFPRI project on “Strengthening the Government of Yemen’s Monitoring and Impact Evaluation on Food and Nutrition Security in Yemen” that is supported by the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ), Germany.
