POLICY NOTES (in English and Arabic)
The event presented key findings and policy recommendations based on research and capacity building activities conducted by IFPRI and its Egyptian partners under the USAID-funded Evaluating Impact and Building Capacity (EIBC) project. It informed Egypt’s post-COVID-19 development agenda, presented a digital monitoring tool (MAP Egypt), and identified directions for future policy research collaborations. Real-time simultaneous translation was available in both English and Arabic.
Using an innovative and interactive online format, this virtual policy research symposium focused on three areas:
- Promoting food system transformation and resilience post-COVID 19.
- Digitalization of agricultural services and policy analysis.
- Agriculture and social protection for improving health and nutrition.
Following the high-level opening, sessions began with rapid-fire presentations by leading IFPRI researchers on key project findings. These presentations were followed by comments from diverse food policy stakeholders on the research-based recommendations, IFPRI's impact, and areas of future collaboration.
