In response to growing demand for WEAI surveys, IFPRI, with support from the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation (BMGF), the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), and the CGIAR Research Program on Agriculture for Nutrition and Health (A4NH), are developing a distance learning course for Women Empowerment in Agricultural Index (WEAI) and the project-level WEAI (pro-WEAI).

The course will be designed to meet the needs of a range of users (e.g., quantitative analysts, monitoring & evaluation specialists, donors, field supervisors) by teaching specific skills related to the WEAI in an online learning environment. Digital certification will be provided upon successful completion.
At present, the pro-WEAI Foundations Module is available. The module’s aim is to train researchers and practitioners on the pro-WEAI tool, from its background to its practical application within the project context. It provides conceptual frameworks, tools and resources, and approaches to integrating the index tools into your project, based on real-world experiences from the team that developed it.
