About the Project
The United States Agency for International Development in Egypt (USAID/Egypt) has awarded the International Food Policy Research Institute (IFPRI) a grant for the implementation of the Evaluating Impact and Building Capacity – An Egypt Strategy Support Program (SSP) over a five-year period (2015-2020) on June 28, 2015. The overall program goal is to contribute to rural income growth, poverty reduction, food security, and adequate nutrition in Egypt. To achieve this goal, the Egypt SSP has three activities:
- Impact evaluation of USAID-funded agriculture and nutrition-related programs in Upper Egypt
- Capacity building of the Ministry of Agriculture and Land Reclamation (MoALR) related to monitoring and evaluation (M&E) of development programs
- Promotion of evidence-based policy making through demand-driven, actionable research and policy advisory services
