Overview
The overarching objective of “Future Food Systems” project is for the CGIAR to offer its foresight and modeling expertise to developing country governments to help achieve the goals of the Food System Declaration. This includes providing new evidence to help integrate agrifood systems into climate and development polies in the run up to COP30, but also, over the longer term, to transfer the CGIAR’s modeling assets and expertise to national governments and technical partners.
The project will produce model-based analysis to support government partners. This includes (1) core analysis on national food systems and climate change, and (2) tailored studies requested by government on specific evidence gaps that, if addressed, would strengthen regular policy processes and help integrate agrifood systems and climate considerations into national plans and investment strategies.
