Hungry for Gender Equality: Global Food 50/50 2022 Report
The second annual Global Food 50/50 Report, a joint initiative of Global Health 50/50, the International Food Policy Research Institute (IFPRI), and UN Women, reviews the gender- and equity-related policies and practices of 51 global food system organizations. The report highlights the progress, or lack thereof, made by food organizations in promoting diversity and equality in their leadership and decision-making. In addition to the annual leadership analysis, this year’s report assesses the board members of governing bodies, finding gender inequalities in board representation and dominance by nationals from high-income countries.

معظم حكومات المدن في بُلدان الجنوب العالمي تعاني من صعوبة جمع النفايات، والتي قد تصل عادةً إلى 30٪ من ميزانية البلدية، ولكنها كثيراً ما تترك قطاعات كبيرة من السكان بدون خدمة.
ولكن في القاهرة على مدار السبعين عامًا الماضية، تم تطوير نظام لجمع النفايات بقيادة وإدارة مجتمعية. هذا النظام يقدم ما لا تستطيع الحكومة المحلية توفيره- خدمة منتظمة، من الباب إلى الباب، تكلفة منخفصة، خدمة كثيفة العمالة بمستويات عالية من إعادة التدوير والتي تساهم في التخفيف من حدة الفقر من خلال فرص العمل التي توفرها.

Egypt introduced the Takaful and Karama Program (TKP), a pair of targeted cash transfer schemes in March 2015. Takaful and Karama was designed as a conditional cash transfer program providing income support targeted to the poor and most vulnerable; namely poor families with children (under 18 years of age), poor elderly (aged 65 years and above) and persons with severe disability.
