The Climate Change Information Center (CCIC) in the Ministry of Agriculture and Land Reclamation (MoLR) in collaboration with the International Food Policy Research Institute (IFPRI) conducted a one-week training course on the International Model for the Policy Analysis of Agricultural Commodities and Trade (IMPACT). The training took place at the Climate Change Information Center (CCIC) between 29 January and 2 February 2023. more than 2o of MALR'S researchers received the training on the IMPACT model.

In 2022, the world faced multiple crises. Disruptions to food systems continued due to the protracted pandemic, natural disasters, civil unrest, political instability, and the impacts of climate change. The situation was exacerbated by the war in Ukraine, which created a global food and fertilizer crisis.
Egypt NPS Seminar Series: Food Prices, Poverty and Household Diets
Over the last few decades, the world has experienced recurring food crises characterized by rampant inflation and spikes in food, fertilizer and fuel prices. Most of these major spikes in food prices are triggered by major events, including the COVID-19 pandemic and the Russia-Ukraine war. More recently, the Russia-Ukraine crisis and associated trade shocks have caused significant disruptions in global markets and hence immediate surges in global food, fuel, and fertilizer prices.
Launch Event: Impact Evaluation of Social Protection Programs
Building on successful collaborations and lessons learned from impact evaluation projects, the Egyptian Food Bank's (EFB) Growth Lab, The International Food Policy Research Institute (IFPRI), and Sawiris Foundation for Social Development (SFSD) are jointly launching a seminar series: “Bridging Evidence and Policy (BEP)”, covering various topics relevant to informing public policy through research and impact evaluation. The launch event “Impact Evaluation of Social Protection Programs” addresses venues through which impact evaluation informs policymaking with a focus on social protection programs in Egypt, bringing officials, researchers, implementers, and NGOs together to share major findings and options for the future.
